Meeting set on ‘263’ work

CEYLON — A celebration for the 70th wedding anniversary of Jim and Toots Morris will be held 4-6 p.m. today at the Ceylon Park shelter house. Your presence will be the best gift. Cards will reach them at Box 271, Ceylon, MN 56121.

Tuesday coffee hours for September continue from 8:30-10 a.m. at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Welcome. Also, there is a Thursday morning coffee lovers group that meets in the banquet room at Legends 2 in Ceylon.

Join friends and neighbors for good fellowship over a cup of Joe.

A Bible class will be held 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Area residents are welcome.

Ceylon City Council will meet 6 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall. All members are urged to attend.

And there will be an open house to learn about the Highway 263 project scheduled for 2021 from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday in the banquet room/legion hall at Legends 2 in Ceylon. There will be a brief presentation at 4 p.m. by representatives from the Minnesota Department of Transportation followed by an open house format. The City Council has seen some of the plans and is interested in seeking input from the community. The public is encouraged to attend the open house to learn more about the project and help provide input.

Ceylon Legion and Sons of the Legion will meet 7 p.m. Tuesday in the banquet room at Legends 2 in Ceylon. All members are urged to attend.

Friendly Neighbors Card Club will meet 1:30 p.m. Friday at Goldfinch Estates in Fairmont. They will have a special birthday celebration included in their afternoon of fellowship and fun. Eileen Christensen turned 103 on Sept. 3. Congratulations Mrs. Christensen and our wish is for many more years to come.

There will be a Red Cross blood drive from Sept. 10-12 at the Fairmont Holiday Inn, Sept. 16 at St. Vianney Church in Fairmont and Sept. 18 at Cutting Edge Fitness in Fairmont.

A blood drive will be held in Ceylon from 1-6 p.m. Sept. 19 at Legends 2 banquet room/Legion. Blood is in demand with all the hurricanes and other events happening lately.
