Museum opens up today

CEYLON — Hope you and yours had a wonderful Fourth of July holiday.

Today is the first Saturday of the month so the Ceylon Area Historical Society Museum will be open from 1-3 p.m. The museum is located across the street from the post office.

Ceylon Summerfest committee would like to thank all those who came to the celebration last weekend, and especially those who participated and volunteered to make it a successful and fun celebration.

There will be a Red Cross blood drive from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Welcome.

Next week there will be a blood drive in Ceylon, from 1-6 p.m. on July 17.

Tuesday coffee hours for July continue beginning 8:30 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon. Join friends and neighbors for good brew, treats and good fellowship.

Also, a coffee lovers group meets 8:30-10 a.m. every Thursday in Ceylon.

Ceylon City Council will meet 6 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall. All members are urged to attend. Time for public comments is always held at the beginning of each meeting.

St. Peter Lutheran Church will have 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening services during July. The other Circle of Faith parishes in Welcome and Waverly will have Sunday morning services at 8:30 a.m.

Friendly Neighbor Card Club will meet 1:30 p.m. Friday at the home of Shirley Schmidt. All members are encouraged to attend.
