Classic tractor ride set for July 27

TRUMAN — A come-and-go open house bridal shower for Becca Hintz, bride-to-be of Dylan Tomlinson, will be 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Fellowship Room in Truman.

Becca is the daughter of Larry and Kaycee Hintz.

Martin County Relay for Life will be held 3 p.m. to midnight Saturday at the Martin County Fairgrounds.

You don’t have to be on a team to come out and enjoy all the events and support the survivors and remember those who have lost their fight against this terrible disease. Come out and help save lives from cancer.

“Truman Times” can be heard at 3:15 p.m. Monday on KNUJ AM 860 Radio from New Ulm. Mayor Lynn Brownlee will talk about happenings in Truman.

A salad buffet will be held 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church. You can enjoy 25-plus kinds of salads, deviled eggs, crackers, sandwiches, fresh fruit, dessert samplers and beverage. Carryouts are available but no deliveries. The cost is $8 for adults and $3 for children.

“Reading Rocks” storytime begins 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Truman Library, followed by a time to make a craft item for area children.

2018 Jaguar football team camp for all boys going into grades 7-12 is planned for 4-6 p.m. July 23-26 with Coach Senf at the high school football field.

Registration and a $30 fee, which includes a camp shirt, is due no later than June 30. Please turn in your fee and registration to Truman High School with checks payable to Jaguar Football.

A notice to Truman residents about your tree branches. All tree branches hanging over city streets and sidewalks are considered a nuisance and must be trimmed up. Branches must be at least 12 feet above streets and 8 feet above sidewalks.

Branches 3 inches in diameter or less can be hauled to the Truman city burn site at no charge. For more information, contact Truman City Hall at (507) 776-7951.

Application forms for this year’s Truman Days all-city garage sales are now available at Truman City Hall, Truman Library, Truman Post Office, China House Café, Profinium, Casey’s on their back bulletin board, Truman Tribune, Truman Public Utilities, from Barb at (507) 776-7601 or magerba@frontiernet.net or Kathy at (507) 776-7091.

The deadline for submitting information for the advertising flyer is July 6.

The fee is $15, which will cover area advertising.

The flyers will be out on July 21.

The garage sales will be held July 26-28.

Another great Truman Days event to start thinking about is the classic tractor ride that will be held July 27. Line-up time is 7:30 a.m., with the parade of tractors leaving at 8 a.m.

The starting location is at Prairieland solid waste road in the northeast corner of Truman.

Coffee and rolls will be provided at Kaduce Shop, then drive east to Amboy and stop at Karau’s Repair. Proceed west past Willow Creek Church, then to Antrim Church for a picture by Katie Sherman. The tractors will be back to Graf Park in Truman for noon lunch.
