SHERBURN — Friday will be the last day of school for Martin County West students.

A high school awards day program will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday in the high school gymnasium. It will recognize students who have qualified for awards and scholarships throughout the year, with the emphasis on the 2018 senior class on its last day of school.

Commencement exercises for the Martin County West class of 2018 will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the high school gym. Reserved seating will be available for parents and siblings on the gym floor, with the bleachers available for other family members and friends.

If you’re planning to have a rummage sale as part of the citywide rummage sales during the Sherburn Holiday Festival weekend of June 14-16, don’t forget to get your rummage sale information to Sheila at the Martin County Star office in Sherburn before the deadline of June 12.

You may also send your rummage sale information to Sheila at Box 20, Sherburn, MN 56171, or phone her at (507) 764-6681. Include your name, address, days and times of sale, some of the items you’re selling and a check for $10.

Red Cross bloodmobile will be in Sherburn from 1-6 p.m. June 11 at the Regional Worship Center. Note: This a change of time from previous blood drives.

The annual Sherburn Holiday Festival will be here soon. Due to state regulations, raffle tickets cannot be sent through the mail as they once were.

Sherburn Lions Club is asking that residents send $10 to Bank Midwest in Sherburn, Attn: John Tirevold, and they will then enter three tickets in your name for the drawings during the festival. Please include your name, address and phone number with your payment.

You may also purchase tickets from the bank, from any Lions Club member or at the festival that will be held the weekend of June 15-17.

Funds raised from ticket sales will go toward Sherburn community projects.

Thanks to all the wonderful volunteers for once again helping to raise the flags surrounding Sherburn City Park during the Memorial Day weekend. It is truly a beautiful tribute to all veterans.
