Early Risers set Wednesday meeting Early Risers Kiwanis Club of Fairmont will meet for breakfast and an informative talk Wednesday, Aug. 21, at the Ranch Restaurant, Fairmont. Heritage Acres to meet Thursday The August meeting of Heritage Agricultural Interpretive Center will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, in the Prairieville building at 507 Lake Ave. in Fairmont. After a light supper there will be the secretary and treasurer’s reports, with receipts and bills to date for Theshing Day that was held Aug. 11. Jerry Simon, president, will review the results of all the Theshing Day events. All members and the public are invited to attend.

Community worship at the Fair Community Worship Service at the Fair will be held 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, in the park at the Martin County Fairgrounds, Fairmont. The service includes live band worship and exciting faith stories. Prior to the service, donuts and coffee will be served at 9:30 a.m. The public is welcome. Bring a friend. Food drive this week at the Fair KSUM, 106.5 FM, the Photo Press and Sentinel, are teaming up again to begin the new Kamp for Kids food drive for the Fairmont Salvation Army this year at the Martin County Fair. The past few years the food drive has come up short, so they are going to help out again by having a non-perishable food drop off at the Martin County Fair from noon to 7 p.m. Aug. 12 through Aug. 18.
