Fairmont Football tailgate Thursday Join Fairmont Cardinal football fans for the first tailgate of the season from 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, to kick off the football season. Bank Midwest will be serving pork chops or hot dog, chips, cookie and water for $5. All proceeds will go to the Fairmont Booster Club. People First plans Tuesday meeting People First will hold a potluck picnic meeting from 4-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Sylvania Park in Fairmont. Early Risers set Wednesday meeting Early Risers Kiwanis Club of Fairmont will meet for breakfast and an informative talk Wednesday, Aug. 28, at the Ranch Restaurant, Fairmont. Church plans free meal on Wednesday First Congregational United Church of Christ in Fairmont will offer a free community meal beginning 5:30 p.m. until the food is gone on Wednesday, Aug. 28, at their church located at 319 Downtown Plaza in Fairmont. This is sponsored by Fairmont Uptown Kiwanis. The meal will consist of chicken tacos, Doritos, homemade applesauce, homemade cookies and bars and lemonade.
