Brandt-Thiesse to wed July 29

LEDYARD — Cierra Brandt and Tanner Thiesse announce their engagement and upcoming marriage. Parents of the couple are Rodney and Tari Brandt of Ledyard, Iowa, Todd and Cathy Thiesse of Fairmont. Cierra recently graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in education. She has accepted a kindergarten teaching position in Fairmont for the fall of 2017. Tanner graduated from Hawkeye Community College with a degree in HVAC. He is currently working at Schwickerts in Mankato. A July 29 wedding will be held at Bethany Evangelical and Reformed Church in Ledyard.

Stensland-Bass to wed July 29

FAIRMONT — Stephanie Stensland and Colton Bass announce their engagement and upcoming marriage. Parents of the couple are Larry and Deb Stensland of Granada, Jeff and Melissa Bass of Hills. Stephanie graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University. She works as an elementary teacher at Hills-Beaver Creek Elementary School. Colton graduated from South Dakota State University. He works as a pharmacist for Lewis Drug in Luverne. A July 29 wedding is planned at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont.

Splinter-Shumski to wed Aug. 5

FAIRMONT — Emily Splinter and Carter Shumski announce their engagement and upcoming marriage. Parents of the couple are Dale Splinter, Chris and Dereck Bartz, Jim Shumski, Sandy and Steve Griese. Emily is employed at Great Plains Transportation in Fairmont, and Carter is a self-employed semi driver. An Aug. 5 wedding is planned at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont.

Ruen-Gilbert to wed July 8

FAIRMONT — Sydney Ruen and Jonah Gilbert announce their engagement and upcoming marriage. Parents of the couple are Paul and Sue Ruen of Fairmont, Keith and Betsy Gilbert of Arden Hills. Sydney graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in nursing. She is employed as a nurse at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. Jonah graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in mechanical engineering. He is employed at New Hudson Facades in Mendota Heights. A July 8 wedding is planned in Fairmont.

Blake-Vetter to marry Oct. 7

FAIRMONT — Lacy Blake and Josh Vetter announce their engagement and upcoming marriage. Parents of the couple are Chris and Cherish Blake of Portland, Ore., Jeff and Renae Vetter of Fairmont. Lacy graduated from American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Los Angeles, with a degree in performing arts. She is employed as a drama teacher for Drama Maniacs. Josh also graduated from AMDA with a degree in studio acting. He is employed at Universal Studios Hollywood as an improv character actor. An Oct. 7 wedding is planned in McMinnville, Oregon.

Diekmann-Burnett to wed Sept. 16

FAIRMONT — Brittany Diekmann and Chris Burnett announce their engagement and upcoming marriage. Parents of the couple are Myla Diekmann and Anthony Tate of Fairmont, and Jeff and Cindy Burnett of Sherburn. A Sept. 16 wedding is planned at Lincoln Park in Fairmont.
