FAIRMONT — Emily Splinter and Carter Shumski announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.

Parents of the couple are Dale Splinter, Chris and Dereck Bartz, Jim Shumski, Sandy and Steve Griese.

Emily is employed at Great Plains Transportation in Fairmont, and Carter is a self-employed semi driver.

An Aug. 5 wedding is planned at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont.
