Joseph Hackett, Sr., Guard, Fairmont One of two returning starters for head coach Jared Thompson’s team, Joseph Hackett was a strong two-way player for Fairmont basketball this season. Hackett finished the year averaging just over 10 points per game while shooting 36% from beyond the arc. He wrapped up his time at Fairmont with the third-most 3-pointers made in school history. Keira Benck, Sr., Guard, GHEC/T/ML Another explosive guard in the area, Keira Benck’s senior season was filled with a handful of highlights for the Jaguars. On top of reaching the 1,000 career point mark, Benck’s 50 made 3-pointers is the largest single-season amount in program history. Benck also holds the record for most career 3-pointers made. She finished the year averaging over 18 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.4 steals and 2.7 assists per game, earning Tomahawk-Valley Conference, Valley Division Player of the Year honors. Fairmont’s Brylee Miller was announced on the Minnesota Girls Basketball Coaches Association’s Class AA All-State team, announced this week. Miller helped guide the Cardinals to their best season finish in the past decade. Fairmont went 28-3 this year with impressive victories over St. James Area (three times) and Pipestone Area.
