FAIRMONT — Fairmont residents who would like to grow their own garden but do not have adequate space can sign up for a free garden plot with Rural Advantage. Garden plots are 20-by-20 feet. Once plot designation is completed later this spring, the plot is the individual’s or family’s to care for the balance of the growing season. Each family plants, cares and harvests its own plot. The garden plots are located at Heritage Acres on the west side of Lake Sisseton.

Fairmont Community Gardens are private garden plots in a community space. If you would like to have a plot in 2022 or just have questions, contact Rural Advantage at (507) 238-5449 or linda@ruraladvantage.org. Leave your name, phone number and email.

Rural Advantage is a Fairmont-based nonprofit working on issues focused on agriculture, environment and rural communities. This is the 12th year Rural Advantage has coordinated the Fairmont Community Gardens.
