FAIRMONT — The Region 13 champion Fairmont Martins square off against the defending Minnesota Class ‘C’ state amateur baseball champion Jordan Brewers today in a noon third-round state tournament clash at Riverside Park in Springfield.

The winner between Fairmont (23-2) and Jordan (21-4) advances to the state quarterfinals at noon Sunday in Springfield against the winner between Foley and Buffalo.

The Martins’ potential state semifinal game is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday in Springfield, while the Class ‘C’ championship game will be held at 1 p.m. Labor Day back at Riverside Park in Springfield.

The Martins edged Waconia by a 2-1 decision during second-round action last Friday night to gain today’s contest, while Jordan bested Lake Henry by an 11-2 rout in second-round state tournament play.
