RUTHVEN – The North Union High School (5-3) football team defeated Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire (8-1) 56-48 last Friday night during the opening round of the 8-Player, Pod A Football Playoffs. Cardinals volleyball season ends in playoff loss to Arrows

PIPESTONE – The No. 6 Fairmont Cardinals volleyball team fell to No. 3 Pipestone Area Arrows on Friday night during the opening round of the Section 3AA Volleyball Tournament. The Arrows’ 25-12, 25-23, 25-19 sweep ended the Cardinals' season with a 7-17 record. Pipestone Area will play at 7 p.m. next Tuesday at No. 2 Jackson County Central. Leslie Zarling finished the contest with 17 set assists for the Cardinals, while Brylee Miller put together eight kills and seven digs. Jadyn Montgomery had eight kills of her own with six blocks, while Harper Artz tallied three kills.
