Fairmont takes down TCU 11-4

FAIRMONT — The Fairmont Cardinals softball team bounced back from a rough Thursday opener to earn their first win of the season on Friday, picking up an 11-4 nonconference win over Tri-City United.

Brylee Miller got the complete-game win in the circle, striking out nine while allowing eight hits and no walks for four runs. Nevaeh Rahm led the Cardinals’ offense with a pair of singles, a double and three RBIs. Ilana Moeller had two singles also for Fairmont, while Ava Terfehr and Maddy Landin each had a double, Makayla Lowry had a single and two RBIs and Gabby Leiding had a single and an RBI.

Fairmont (1-1) is at New Ulm on Tuesday for Big South Conference action.
