FAIRMONT — Fairmont wrestler Aaron Becker exited the Rochester Civic Center with a silver medal March 17.

Becker netted runner-up honors at 165 pounds in the Minnesota USA Folkstyle State Meet.

Becker finished second in the 14U division by recording a pair of falls and a major decision.

Becker began his trek to the medals podium by pinning Minnesota’s Luther Johannes in 1:27.

The Fairmont phenom then disposed of North Branch’s Vincent Kaiser by earning the slap of the canvas in 2:37 during their state quarterfinal showdown.

Becker later posted an 8-0 major decision over Stillwater’s Jordan Gunderson in the semifinals.

Destan Skelly of Grand Rapids then generated a technical fall over Becker during the 165-pound state championship match.
