Jaguars’ balance trips up Clippers, 69-29

CLEVELAND — The Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther Jaguars nearly had five players reach double figures in scoring to pace their road basketball win on Thursday night.

Bethany Petrowiak, Olivia Mattson, Brianna Petrowiak and Londyn Bowers each eclipsed double-digit point production to help the Jaguars sail by the Cleveland Clippers, 69-29, during Valley Conference action in Cleveland.

Mattson produced a double-double performance of 15 points and 10 rebounds to complement pocketing five steals and distributing four assists.

Bethany Petrowiak netted a game-best 16 points and pulled down six boards, while Brianna Petrowiak supplied 11 points.

Bowers contributed 10 points and five boards to the Jaguars’ winning ways, while teammate McKenna Benck collected eight points, eight rebounds and four assists.

Ava Hahn scored 10 points for the Clippers.

The Jaguars (3-2) host Springfield at 7 p.m. on Tuesday night in Truman.
