No. 3 Red Bulls dominate wrestling triangular

ST. PETER — The Class AA No. 3-ranked Martin County Red Bulls claimed another wrestling triangular Tuesday in St. Peter.

The Red Bulls earned seven pins on their way to a 57-18 win over St. Peter, then earned two falls and took five forfeits during a 58-14 win over Pipestone Area.

Rylan Cutler started the Red Bulls’ opening run when he forced Charlie Born’s shoulders to the mat in 1:53, then Cooper Steuber followed with a 47-second pin of Allie Pettis at 113 pounds.

Kole Hanson then needed only 40 seconds to end his 120-pound match with Evan Walter before No. 1-ranked 126-pounder Jaxson Rohman earned a technical fall in 2:20 against Nakiye Mercado.

No. 8-ranked 132-pounder Kain Sanders worked his way to an 11-7 decision over Noah Hunt, then Aden Welcome followed with a 9-1 major decision against Harold Born at 145 pounds.

No. 3-ranked 138-pounder Lucas Jagodzinske moved up to 145 and pinned Nathan Fogal in 5:47, then No. 2-ranked 145-pounder Connor Simmonds needed only 1:29 to end his 152-pound match with Taylen Travaille.

No. 4-ranked 160-pounder Blake Jagodzinske worked to a 4-2 decision against Kole Guth for the last of the Bulls’ run.

Wyatt Williamson needed only 37 seconds to force Oziel Hildago’s shoulders to the mat at 195, then Max Olson ended his 220-pound match with Connor Travaille in 58 seconds.

Cole Filand earned the Saints’ first points with a pin of Carver Rohman in 2:58 at 170, then Leighton Robb doubled the Saints’ score by pinning Gage Cyphers in 5:09 at 182.

Nathan Pettis ended the dual with a pin of Alec Thompson in 1:34 at 285 pounds.

Cutler opened the dual against Pipestone Area with a 9-4 decision over Brayden Burmeister at 106, then Jaxson Rohman forced a second technical fall, this one in 2:58, against Nate Bobendrier at 126.

Sanders worked his way to a 19-5 major decision against Davis Budden at 132, Blake Jagodzinske earned his second pin of the triad in 2:22 against Rogen Smidt, while Carver Rohman won a 10-2 major decision against Jackson Melcher at 170.

Cyphers pinned Allen Tubbs in 54 seconds at 182.

Lucas Jagodzinske (138), Welcome (145), Simmonds (145), Williamson (195) and Olson (220) all took forfeits for the Bulls.

Hudson Burnett earned the Arrows’ first points of the dual with a 19-9 major decision over Steuber at 113, then J.J. Martens won a 13-4 major decision over Hanson at 120.

Jayden Hoss earned the Arrows’ final points with a pin of Thompson at 285 in 3:01.

Martin County (21-1) hosts Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial and Worthington at 5 p.m. Thursday in Sherburn.
