Fairmont sweeps C-squad volleyball clash

FAIRMONT — The Fairmont Cardinals swept three consecutive games, 25-19, 25-14, 15-13, from the Waseca Bluejays during C-squad volleyball action Monday night in Fairmont.

Rylyn Larsen recorded nine digs for Fairmont, Nevaeh Rahm smacked three kills and Grace Pendergast distributed three set assists.

Fairmont travels to New Ulm on Friday for a 4:45 p.m. match.

Cardinals fall in B-squad volleyball match

FAIRMONT — The Waseca Bluejays defeated the Fairmont Cardinals, 25-15, 25-19, 15-8, during B-squad volleyball play Monday night in Fairmont.

Olivia Ortega made seven digs to complement 7-for-7 serving for the Cardinals, Anna Ehlert tallied seven digs, while Kynlie Anderson went 5 of 6 at the service line.

Fairmont travels to New Ulm on Friday for a 6 p.m. match.

Fairmont football plays a Thursday night game

FAIRMONT — The Fairmont Cardinals football team travels to St. Peter on Thursday night for a 7 p.m. kickoff against the Saints at Floyd B. Johnson Field.

Fairmont (1-1) enters its third game of the regular season on the heels of a 42-20 triumph over the New Ulm Eagles on Friday night at Mahoney Field in Fairmont.

St. Peter (1-2) plays its fourth contest of the current campaign on the heels of a 36-7 victory over the Worthington Trojans on Friday night.
