Lutterman aces par 4

FAIRMONT — A 14-year-old junior program participant at Interlaken Golf Club in Fairmont scored a golfer’s dream Friday, but not in typical fashion.

Brock Lutterman was playing the 9th hole on the course when he hit a low cut off the tee with his driver. It was a good shot on the par 4, 275-yard hole, but no one in his group noticed anything particularly special about it.

Until they got up to the green, where the group found Lutterman’s Titleist AVX in the cup.

“I was shocked,” Lutterman said.

It was his first hole in one, a feat that is generally associated with a par 3. Golfers rarely put the ball on the green on their first shot on a par 4.

The junior program at Interlaken involves about 15 golfers who practice during the week then play against each other competitively on Fridays.
