Frank, Fairmont rout TCU cagers, 75-37

MONTGOMERY — Fairmont center Wyatt Frank continued his torrid scoring pace by netting a game-best 24 points to power the Fairmont Cardinals’ 75-37 regular-season basketball rout of the Tri-City United Titans on Monday night.

Frank connected on 7 of 11 field goals and 10 of 12 free throws to pace his point total. He also recorded three blocked shots.

Carter Bell made three 3s to ignite his 11-point effort and grabbed seven rebounds for the Cardinals, while teammate Caden Baarts delivered eight points, seven boars and five assists.

Zach Jorgensen contributed eight points, six assists and five steals to Fairmont’s win, while Jack Hested tallied eight points.

The Cardinals made 28 of 52 field goals, including 6 of 15 from 3-point range, and sank 13 of 19 free throws.

Fairmont held a 31-18 halftime lead before outscoring TCU, 44-19, in the second half.

No. 2-seeded Fairmont (15-9) plays host to No. 7-seeded Windom Area in a 7 p.m. Section 3AA, South Sub-Section quarterfinal game Saturday night at Cardinal Gym.

Jacob Crissinger scorched the nets for a game-best 29 points to guide Fairmont to a 75-62 victory over TCU during B-squad action Monday night.

Tanner Rosch supplied 16 points and seven boards for the Cardinals, while Gavin Junkermeier delivered 13 points and seven rebounds.
