Rohman wins 200th; Red Bulls pocket triangular

FULDA — Jaxson Rohman collected a milestone win to help lead the Class AA No. 2-ranked Martin County Red Bulls to two dominant wins during triangular action Tuesday night in Fulda.

The No. 2-ranked 126-pounder added two wins to his storied resume and collected the 200th win of his career, becoming the first Red Bull to reach the mark.

Rohman claimed a forfeit at 132 pounds in the Red Bulls’ 81-0 win over Fulda/Murray County Central before producing a 50-second pin in the Red Bulls’ 63-9 win over Worthington.

Rohman collected one of four pins against Worthington.

Aden Welcome claimed a forfeit at 113 pounds to give the Red Bulls their first points, then Martin County’s No. 10-ranked 113-pounder Kain Sanders beat 120-pound opponent Oliver Ortiz Perez by an 11-0 major decision.

The Red Bulls’ No. 3-ranked 120-pounder Lucas Jagodzinske claimed a forfeit at 126 pounds before Rohman pinned 132-pound opponent Jose Alvarez Martinez in 50 seconds.

Martin County’s Blake Jagodzinske took a forfeit at 138 pounds, then the Red Bulls’ No. 2-ranked 138-pounder Connor Simmonds took an 11-2 major decision over 145-pound opponent Damon Schutz.

Cale Steuber kept the Red Bulls’ scoring run going with a 12-3 major decision over Jaden Hennings at 152 before No. 2-ranked 152-pounder Payton Anderson earned a technical fall in four minutes against Kent Lais at 160.

The Red Bulls’ No. 2-ranked 160-pounder Miles Fitzgerald started a run of pins when he pressed 170-pound opponent Juan Guizar’s shoulders to the mat in 2:43 before Martin County’s No. 4-ranked 170-pounder Nathan Simmonds did the same to 182-pounder Thomas Lais in 49 seconds. The Red Bulls’ Max Olson had the final fall of the run, earning a slap of the mat in 1:31 against Tanner Hennings at 195 pounds.

The Red Bulls’ No. 5-ranked 195-pounder Jacob Rahn scored Martin County’s final points of the dual with a 12-3 major decision over Cole Hennings at 220 pounds.

Worthington earned nine points on a decision and a pin.

Ethan Meyer earned three points for Worthington at 106 pounds when he took a 10-3 decision over Cooper Steuber.

Worthington’s No. 10-ranked 285-pounder Kyle Mullaney bookended the match with a pin of Everardo Hernandez in 44 seconds.

The Red Bulls collected eight pins and five forfeits on the way to a near-perfect 81 points against Fulda/MCC.

Steuber pinned Denver Einck in 49 seconds at 106 pounds, before Welcome forced Aiden Lorenzen’s shoulders to the mat in 25 seconds at 113.

Sanders received a forfeit at 120, Lucas Jagodzinske pinned Carson Klein in 36 seconds at 126 pounds, then Rohman, Blake Jagodzinske and Connor Simmonds all received forfeit.

Steuber earned a 16-9 decision over Rylan Behnke at 152 pounds before the Red Bulls went on a run of five consecutive pins.

Anderson pinned Christian Kuball in 2:40 at 160 pounds for Martin County before Fitzgerald forced Jesse Ray’s shoulders to the mat in 58 seconds at 170.

Nathan Simmonds earned a slap of the mat at the 2:52 mark against Keigan Behnke at 182 pounds, Olson needed only 16 seconds to pin Ryder Henning at 195 pounds and Rahn pinned Koyer Wendorff in 37 seconds during 220-pound action.

Hernandez ended the nonconference dual meet by claiming a forfeit.

The Red Bulls travel to New Ulm Area on Friday night for a Big South Conference dual meet.
