FAIRMONT — The Fairmont Area Cardinals girls soccer team earned the No. 3 seed for the upcoming Section 2A playoffs.

The Cardinals, who merited two byes in the sectional bracket, will open the postseason by playing host to a quarterfinal game on Saturday, Oct. 12, at Kot Soccer Complex.

Fairmont Area’s opponent will be either Holy Family Catholic, Albert Lea or Glencoe-Silver Lake at a starting time to be determined.
