14U softball team sweeps two from New Ulm

FAIRMONT — The Fairmont 14U girls softball team swept a doubleheader from New Ulm Red, 5-3 and 15-2, Wednesday night.

Mandy Pytleski tripled and singled to pace Fairmont during the opener, while Emily Muller supplied two hits. Ashley Muller and Johanna Petschke each doubled for Fairmont.

Paige Hainy allowed one run on one hit, struck out five and walked three in three innings pitched to net the Game 1 win.

Nevaeh Rahm gave up two runs on one hit, struck out two and walked four in closing the final two frames.

Emily Muller singled, tripled and doubled in Game 2, while Chantel Moeller tripled and singled. Pytleski and Chloe Miller each tripled, while Kynlie Anderson and Rahm each doubled.

Allison Janssen tossed a no-hitter over three innings, allowing one run, while issuing one walk and striking out two in the nightcap.

Pytleski allowed one run on three hits and struck out one in three innings of relief.
