FAIRMONT — Just one clay target separated Jacob Bocock from producing a perfect two-week total of 100 during Fairmont Area’s prep shooting competitions Wednesday and last Saturday.

Bocock and Jedidiah Fowler each proved perfect 5-for-50s during Week 4 action that was rescheduled due to heavy rains May 8 in Fairmont, while Bocock and Colby Grotte shared top marksmanship honors with 49s during the Week 5 competition.

Bocock opened with 24 of 25 during the first half of his 50-target round on Wednesday before closing the second half without a miss. Grotte posted his co-team-leading score in reverse of Bocock, firing for a perfect 25 before closing with a 24.

Tucker Bahr, Cass Davis, Jackson Francis and Will Schellpeper all broke 48 clays during Week 5, while Tyler Fogelson, Fowler, Anthony Holland and Max Seifried posted scores of 47.

During Week 4’s reslated shoot, Davis and Grotte followed the perfect shooting of Bocock and Fowler with identical 24-25-49s to garner runner-up accolades.

Colby Leiding connected on a 23-25-48 to net fourth on the roster, while Levi Buhmann, Tucker Mosloski, Alec Reutzel, Tanner Rosch and Seifried each broke 47 targets.

Fairmont Area returns to weekly action at the range on Wednesday.
