WASECA — The Blue Earth Area Bucs combined five falls with one technical fall to post a 50-21 victory over the Waseca Bluejays during a Big South Conference wrestling dual meet on Thursday night in Waseca.

Davis Sunken recorded the first of the Bucs’ pins on the heels of 113-pound teammate Ty Peterson’s 11-2 major decision over Luke Osweiler. Sunken needed only 2:58 to press Oliver O’Brien’s shoulders to the canvas to generate six team points at 120 pounds.

Caleb Beeler collected six more points on BEA’s side of the team ledger by downing Victor Feeley in 1:39 during 126-pound action. Jaxen Klinkner then provided the Bucs’ lone technical fall of the meet, outpointing William Norton by a 17-2 decision at 138.

Logan Johnson Dominic Whitlow and Ian Cornelio each produced falls at the upper end of the lineup at 160, 182 and heavyweight, respectively, for the Bucs. Johnson downed Payton Garza in 3:59, Whitlow earned the slap of the mat against Daniel Kuhns in 1:50, while Cornelio needed just 1:04 to pin Payten Haack in the dual meet’s final match.

Max Ehrich generated four team points for BEA by producing a 10-1 major decision over Tyler Klinger during 145-pound action, 152-pounder Koby Nagel bested Blake Wendland via a 12-2 major decision, while Akeira Morrow earned a 10-4 decision over Marcus Hansen at 195.

Blue Earth Area (8-5) competes in the Big South Conference individual meet at 10 a.m. today in Windom before playing host to St. Peter in a dual meet on Thursday night.
