LAKE MILLS, Iowa — Davis Sunken and Jesus Quintero pinned their opponents to help the Class A No. 12-ranked Blue Earth Area Bucs wrestling team to a 40-24 win over the Maple River Eagles during the Lake Mills triangular on Thursday night.

Sunken pinned Ethan Evenson in 5:49 at 106 pounds, while the 195-pound Quintero used 59 seconds to pin Logan Ziegler.

Bucs’ 113-pounder Max Ehrich took a 9-1 major decision over Trevor Pearson, and Caden Ochsendorf used a 10-0 major decision to defeat Reise Hanson at 120.

Koby Nagel received a forfeit at 126 for six Bucs points, while Dalton Nagel beat Eagles 138-pounder Wyatt Simon by a 7-3 decision.

Zach Buseman added to the Bucs’ scoring column with a 9-1 major decision against Nathan Moore at 152. Bucs’ 170-pounder Wyatt Tungland took a 12-4 major decision against Dustyn Schmidt, and Trevor Oppedal topped Connor Thorn in a 3-0 decision at 285.

Dillon Schmidt beat Jaxen Klinkner in a 5-2 decision for an Eagles’ win at 132. Lincoln Arndt then used a 5-3 decision to edge Bucs’ 145-pounder Cole Klinkner.

Eagles’ 160-pounder Jared Moore pinned Roger Ziegler in 1:23, and Noah Decker used 17 seconds to pin Bucs’ 182-pounder Isaac Martinez.

Ethan Caven pinned Jordan Huse in 3:53 for six Eagles points at 220 pounds.
