JANESVILLE – The Martin County West Mavericks swept a three-game match from the Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton Bulldogs during Valley Conference volleyball action Tuesday night in Janesville.

The Mavericks jumped out to win the first game by a 25-13 decision before leashing the Bulldogs in Game 2 by a 25-19 margin. Martin County West capped the sweep by capturing a 25-18 decision in Game 3.

Outside hitter Jenna Steele finished the conference clash by pounding down six kills and completed 12 of 17 serves to generate a match-leading four aces for the Mavericks.

Cara Behrends, Emma Behrends and Renae Eckmann each contributed five kills to the blue-and-black attack’s winning ways.

Madison Klima provided the Mavericks with five digs to complement 11-for-15 serving with one ace.

Hope Bicknase collected a team-leading seven digs for Martin County West, while teammate Jade Miller went 9-for-9 from the service line.

Cheyenne Owens completed 14 of 15 serves to go along with distributing six set assists for the Mavericks.

Martin County West (3-1) plays host to Mankato Loyola at 7:30 p.m. tonight in Trimont in a conference match.
