Daniel Gaylor Hanson was born June 2, 1964, to Patricia (Pat) and Elwood (Woody) Hanson at Trimont Community Hospital. Dan graduated from Sherburn High School in 1982, then finished his education at Jackson Vocational School with a certificate in auto body. Dan was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Sherburn, where he was both baptized and confirmed.
Dan held various positions throughout his life at auto body shops, Eagle Air and Glasstite, but his lifelong career was at Cup N’ Saucer Café in Sherburn where he cooked for and served the community for many years.
Dan had several passions – being an uncle, his pets (particularly his dog Taylor), his Chevy Nova, Coca-Cola memorabilia, the Sherburn Pocket Park, James Taylor music and his art. He loved to share his drawing, painting and airbrush works with friends and family. He also enjoyed staying in touch with people via phone and coffee visits.
Left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Scott (Kathy) Hanson, Terri (Randy) Stahn, Tim (Darcy) Hanson and David (Ann) Hanson; eight loving nieces and nephews; four great-nieces and nephews.
Dan was preceded in death by parents, Pat and Woody Hanson.
The family would like to thank the associations, friends, and caregivers that attended to Dan these past years.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Heaven’s Table https://heavenstable.org/donate/ or Southwestern Mental Health https://www.swmhc.org/donate can be made to honor Dan.
In Dan’s own words in his will: “Friends, I’ll never be able to pay you all back but thanks for the help.” www.kramerfuneralhome.com
