Trimont Fun Fest this weekend
WELCOME — The Trimont Fun Fest will be from July 10 to 12, and the Trimont Farmers Market will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Welcome Burn Site is open from 8 a.m. to noon, Remember only wood and only six inches in diameter should be brought to the site. This is for Welcome residents only.
Sunday the Circle of Faith Parishes will meet at one combined service at Waverly Lutheran Church north of Welcome at 9 a.m. and then will proceed to the Heaven’s Table Food Shelf to help them that day. St. Peter in Ceylon will not have a service that day. The Circle of Faith will have a Parish Council meeting on July 14 at Trinity in Welcome at 6 p.m. The parishes will join the Trimont Vacation Bible School from July 19 to 23. Coffee Hours will continue from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday in July, at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn. Join friends and neighbors for fellowship and coffee and treats.
The Welcome Legion members are encouraged to attend the meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 13, at the Legion Hall.
CREST will have a Lunch and Learn program from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15 at the First Lutheran Church in Trimont. The program will be led by Ean Sinn and will explain funerals and cremation. A lunch will follow the program. These programs are free to senior citizens from Martin County. CREST appreciates a free-will donation. Please RSVP to (507) 235-3833 for this program.
The Martin County West School Board has scheduled their meeting for July 15 this month at 6 p.m. at the Sherburn Elementary School.
Affidavits of Candidacy can be applied for at the City Hall for a mayor and two Council members from July 14 to 18. There are affidavits for the MCW School Board members. They are at the school district office. This is for the Nov. 3 election.
Condolences to the families of Scott Stromberg, Betty Lyons, Wanda Olson and Rosemarie (Jagodzinke) Skaife, who all have passed away recently. They will be missed by family and friends.
The City of Welcome has put the park spring animals they replaced up for sale and there will be a silent auction for their purchase. Get information and submit a bid for the auction at the City Hall. The deadline to submit a bid for an item(s) is noon on July 31.
The American Red Cross blood drives will be on July 20, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Aug. 5 at Grace Lutheran Church, Aug. 10 at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn and Aug. 21 at the American Legion Hall in Fairmont. Call 1-800-733-2767 (1-800-RED-CROSS), visit www.redcrossblood.org or text ‘BLOODAPP’ to 90999 to make an appointment or get further information about blood drives in the area. Blood supply is always lower in the summer months, but the demand for blood is higher, so give blood if you are eligible (age 16 or older, weigh 110 or more and in good health). Thank you. Your blood donation may save up to three people.
