Ardys M. Erickson

FAIRMONT — A funeral service for Ardys M. Erickson, 96 of Fairmont, Minn., will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 2021, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery, Fairmont. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 2021, at Lakeview Funeral Home.

Ardys passed away Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021, at Goldfinch Estates in Fairmont, Minn. Memorials are preferred to American Cancer Society. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ardys Margie (Seim) Erickson was born Nov. 28, 1925, in Jackson, Minn., to Clarence and Bessie (Christopher) Seim. She attended school at District 5 in Belmont Township, District 13 in Des Moines Township and graduated from Jackson High School. On March 17, 1946, Ardys was united in marriage to Einar Martin Erickson at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont. After their marriage, Einar and Ardys made their home in Fairmont. Ardys was a manager in the catalog department at Montgomery Ward and then went on to work at the Fairmont Sentinel as the classified advertising clerk from which she retired in 1989. In 2012, Ardys moved to Goldfinch in Fairmont. Ardys was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont where she was active in the Ladies Aid and Anna Circle. She loved spending time outdoors gardening and tending to her flowers. Ardys and Einar enjoyed traveling. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Cynthia (Theodore) Anderson, David Erickson, Larry (Rebecca) Erickson, and Kevin (Nancy) Erickson; grandchildren, Stacie (Rick) Nordvold, Jennifer (Michael) Merwin, Beth (Ken) Stensrud, Rachel Manwarren, and Jason (Laurie) Erickson; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Teddy and Libby Nordvold, Jacob Anderson, Michaela and Caitilyn Merwin, Satori Erickson, Drake and Ericka Manwarren and Calista Stensrud; brother, Richard (Barbara) Seim; sister, Ivadelle Hinz; many nieces, nephews and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Bessie Seim; husband, Einar Erickson; parents-in-law, Iver and Mabel Erickson; sister, Verlaine Schock; brothers and sisters-in-law, Myrtle and Joe Walling, Vivian and Ewald Schnitzmeier, Dan and Nina Boone, Willis Hinz, Duane Schock, and Daniel and Lorraine Erickson; grandson-in-law, Ryan Manwarren; and several nephews and a niece.
