Welcome talks sports complex expenses, maintenance

WELCOME — The Welcome City Council held a meeting on Tuesday evening and the Fox Lake Sports Complex in Welcome was discussed. Three representatives from the school board and the Fox Lake Sports Complex, Sam Meixell, Courtney Schult and Mark Wohlhuter were present. The council explained that the value of the ballfields is $208,000, the city has had $18,000 in expenses lately for tiling and there was a repair of a water pipe punctured when the backdrop was installed. SHERBURN — A CREST Lunch and Learn program will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Sherburn. Sherburn City Council looks for project loan

SHERBURN — At Monday’s meeting, the Sherburn City Council approved applying for a loan from the revolving fund of $500,000 for water improvement projects. This project would be voted on later and only if the loan was approved. The regular business included a transfer of $53,000 from the Capital Expense Account to the Operating Account at the Temperance Lake Ridge facility to ensure payroll payments.
