SHERBURN — At the Sherburn City Council meeting on Monday, there was a council consideration request for a blighted property fund. A resident who would like to participate in the city’s blighted property fund has requested consideration for the use of grant funds for demolition-related dumpster and disposal costs, rather than reimbursement solely for contracted demolition services. BLUE EARTH— “The paving on CSAH (County State Aid Highway) 19 was completed yesterday,” Denny Wick of the Faribault County Public Works Department told the commissioners at the Faribault County Board meeting held on Tuesday. “They started the shouldering work this morning and I expect that to take three to four days. FAIRMONT – Ten years removed from their first grant cycle in 2016 and over $6 million given to Martin County nonprofits, the Schmeeckle Foundation has once again opened its grant cycle. The application is open to projects relating to early childhood care and education, services for people with disabilities and older adults and the arts from organizations with a 501c3 status.
