Filing period ends

FAIRMONT–On Tuesday, the last day of the filing period, Dan Geronsin filed for the District Two Martin County Commissioner seat, representing the following precincts: the city of Fairmont: Ward 2, Precinct 2; and Ward 3, Precinct 1 and 2. The seat is currently held by Jaime Bleess, who is also seeking re-election.

Julie Laue and incumbent Richard Koons filed for the District Four County Commissioner seat.

The rest of the open seats had just one person file for them.

Matt Owens filed for County Sheriff, currently held by Jeff Markquart.

Michelle Duncan filed to retain her seat as County Recorder.

Taylor McGowan filed to retain his seat as County Attorney.

Ben Madsen filed to retain his seat as County Surveyor.

Chantill Kahler Royer filed to retain her seat as District Two Soil and Water Supervisor.

Tyler Ask filed to retain his seat as District Five Soil and Water Supervisor

Nolan Kittleson filed for District Four Soil and Water Supervisor, currently held by Doug Eisenmenger.

The primary election will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 11.

Filings for all other offices, cities and school districts without primaries or townships with November elections, will open on July 14 and stay open until July 28.

The general election is on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
