SHERBURN — During the Sherburn City Council meeting on Monday, several Civic and Commerce Club representatives requested permission to purchase/order benches for the park. They said they would be open for donations to place a bench at the park and have a design to show a memorial or something meaningful for that person on the bench. The benches are about 200 pounds and made of structural steel and could be left out year-round they thought. FAIRMONT— The Martin County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday went over the preliminary 2027 budget. Department heads began filling out their requests in May with budget workshops starting in mid-June. Tuesday was the first time the board looked at the preliminary budget.
