Welcome FD Pancake Breakfast on Sunday

WELCOME — There will be an extra cribbage tournament date at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7 at the Welcome Legion Hall. The tournaments will continue on their usual dates, the second and third Saturdays of the month, on Feb. 14 and 21. All area cribbage players are welcome to join the afternoon of fun. The Welcome Fire Department Relief Association will sponsor a fundraiser Pancake Breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday, Feb. 8 at the Welcome Legion Hall. MADELIA — A vehicle accident near the House of Print facility late Wednesday afternoon forced the cancellation of Thursday’s print edition after a utility pole was destroyed, cutting power to the facility for 14 hours. The collision, which occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday, severed lines and left the plant without electricity until 7 a.m. Thursday.
