Martin Co. talks shared IT services with Faribault Co.

FAIRMONT— The possibility of sharing IT services between Martin and Faribault counties was discussed by the Martin County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday. Martin County’s IT Director, Jeramie Jones, said that they were looking at providing comprehensive IT services for Faribault County, not including the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office. Faribault Co. has focus on parks

BLUE EARTH— “We would like to open the county parks by the middle of April if we could,” Denny Wick of the Public Works Department told the Faribault County Board at their meeting on Tuesday. “We will have to see if the weather permits us to open the parks that early.” Wick also had an update on the pavilion at Pihls Park. “We had a total of four bids to pour new concrete inside the shelter,” Wick said. “The lowest bid came from Grotte Construction of Fairmont and was for $16,033. Sherburn City Council looks at Ringer Drive area

SHERBURN — During the Sherburn City Council meeting on Monday evening, CO-CEDA manager of the EDA in southcentral Minnesota, Dave Schmidt, and the County EDA representative, Nicole Behrens, explained that Sherburn asked them to report on possible contracting to help get developers for the city, especially the Ringer Drive area. FAIRMONT – The Martin County Economic Development Authority (EDA) approved attending a broadband summit on April 29, sending a CEDA member to attend and report back.
