Ceylon Community Day on April 11
CEYLON — A Kids’ Easter Bingo will be at 2 p.m. today, Saturday, April 4, at the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon. Activities include face painting, games and hotdog lunch. Lake Belt Bar and Grill will have a Nutt Fry at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 10. That is the day before Ceylon Community Day.
Easter is Sunday, April 5, and area churches have services planned. Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon has an Easter service at 5:30 p.m. tonight, April 4, with an Easter brunch to follow. The Circle of Faith parishes will have an Easter service at 9 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome for all parishes. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert will have an Easter Breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and a service at 9:30 a.m. Their partner church in Sherburn, St. John, will have two services at 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. with an Easter breakfast and egg hunt in between services. St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Sherburn will have a 10:30 a.m. service. They will have Sunday services at 10:30 a.m. from April to June. The Regional Worship Center in Sherburn will have breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and service at 10 a.m. St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome will have an Easter service at 7 a.m., followed by a pancake feed. Area residents are welcome to join any of these congregations for services.
The Helping Hands of Ceylon has taken over the ordering and delivery of Heaven’s Table food boxes. Orders can be made by Thursday, April 9, by calling (507) 236-7850. Pickup will be from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, April 21.
Congratulations to Roger and Kim Manwarren of Ceylon, who will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on April 5. Our wish is for many more anniversaries for you two.
Tuesday Coffee Hours will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont. The first Tuesday is April 7. Join friends and neighbors for coffee and fellowship.
American Red Cross blood drives will be on Wednesday, April 8, at Truman Public School, on Monday, April 13, at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn, on Friday, April 17, at the American Legion Hall in Fairmont and on Monday, April 27, at Martin Luther High School in Northrop. An additional number for the Sherburn drive is Dorothy at (507) 236-5764. Blood is needed now. Give if you are eligible. Each blood donation may save three lives.
The Martin Luther High School Spring Rummage and Bake Sale will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 17 and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 18. Bargain prices and many items are available at this semi-annual sale. Plan to attend.
