Sherburn accepting applications
SHERBURN — Lenten Midweek services continue with the Circle of Faith Parishes meeting at 6 for a meal and at 7 p.m. for services p.m. at Waverly Lutheran Church north of Welcome. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert will host its partner church, St. John’s in Sherburn, for a 6 p.m. service followed by a cooperative lunch. St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Sherburn has 8:30 a.m. Wednesday services. Its partner churches in Lakefield and Jackson have evening services. Area residents are welcome to join any of these churches for services.
The Sherburn Theatre will show the movie, “I Can Only Imagine 2” at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, and Saturday, Feb. 28, and at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 1.
Condolences to the family of Cynthia Ford from Ankeny, Iowa, who passed away recently. She will be remembered as the owner of Sherburn Nursery. She will be missed by family and many friends.
This is the last week of February. The Friendship Club from St. John’s Lutheran Church will meet for snacks and a movie, “A Man Called Otto,” at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 2, at the church. Area residents are welcome to join the fellowship. Membership at St. John’s is not required.
The City of Sherburn is accepting applications for the mayor and part-time city employee positions. Contact the City Hall for information at (507) 764-4491 or in person. The deadline for the mayor position is March 11.

March 8, the Sherburn Lions Pancake Feed will be from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Martin County West in Sherburn.
March 8, turn clocks ahead one hour.
March 10 is the date for most Township’s annual meetings and elections.
The Friendship Club from St. John’s Church in Sherburn will meet to watch the movie “A Man Called Otto” at 1:30 p.m. on March 2 at the church. Bring a snack to pass. Area seniors are invited. Membership at St. John’s is not required.
