Steak Fry Night on Saturday

SHERBURN — The ladies’ group LWML from St. John’s Lutheran Church will meet at 2 p.m. All members are encouraged to attend. St. John’s youth group will sell coffee, cocoa, tea, chai and other beans and cookies until Oct. 3. Contact any of the youth group or the church. They will have a Rally Day to begin their Sunday School program for the year on Sunday, Sept. 14.

The Trimont Farmer’s Market will be open from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. today, Sept. 10. They plan to continue for the month of September. Check out the homegrown items for sale. The Trimont Town Center will celebrate being in business for 10 years with a concert by Canaan James on Sept. 13 and a special worship service at 10:10 a.m. on Sept. 14. Congratulations on 10 years in Trimont.

Condolences to the families of Anna Kuschell from the Dunnell area, Joyce Ekstadt from the Trimont area and Marlene Kuntz from the Sherburn area, who passed away recently. They will be missed by friends and family.

The Martin County Relay for Life fundraiser for the American Cancer Society will be from 4 to 9 p.m. on Sept. 13 at the Martin County Fairgrounds in Fairmont. Do you have your team organized? Activities include relay, music from The BeeKays, a car show, butterfly release, face painting, pedal pull, silent auction, pork meal and more. What a good cause. Plan to attend. Survivors, families, and anyone wishing to help cancer cure research are welcome to join the celebration. Rachel Manwarren and Sammi Jo Helmers-Nelson are working hard to make this a very good event for the Martin County Cancer Society. Plan to attend.

The Sherburn Legion Steak Fry Night will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sept. 13. The Sherburn Legion Hamburger Night is planned for Sept. 17 with a bake sale to help the MCW FFA group.

Sunday School Days are planned at St. John Lutheran Church and for the Circle of Faith Parishes on Sept. 14.

The Sherburn City Council is scheduled to meet at 5 p.m. on Sept. 15 at the City Hall. The Martin County West School Board will meet at 6 p.m. on Sept. 15.

The Tuesday Coffee Hours are scheduled to meet from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome. Join friends and neighbors for good coffee and treats and great fellowship each Tuesday in September.

A CREST Lunch and Learn program will be at 11 a.m. on Sept. 17 at the First Lutheran Church in Trimont, followed by a lunch. These programs are free to Martin County senior citizens. CREST appreciates a free-will donation for the lunch. Plan to attend.

A Back to School Vendor Show will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 20 at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Sherburn. Pulled pork sandwiches, breakfast burritos, treats, chips and beverages will be available. Contact Kathy Boe. Plan to attend.

The Martin County West volleyball team will compete with Loyola at 7 p.m., tomorrow, Sept. 11. The cross country team will compete at 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, at Gustavus College in St. Peter. There will be a tailgate party before the football game versus Madelia at 7 p.m. on Sept. 12 in Trimont.
