TRUMAN– Summer is ending soon, so come to the Truman pool for the last days of fun. August 14 to 17 they will only be open until 5 p.m. during the Martin County Fair, but back to regular hours 1 to 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on August 18. The last late-night swim is from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Aug. 22. The cost is $3. The last day the pool will be open is Aug. 23. REMEMBER: Pool stays open if they have three swimmers or more. A farmers’ market will be held 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at Graf Park in Truman. Vendors can be anyone selling homemade or homegrown items of any variety: vegetables, canned or baked goods, woodworking, sewing, soap making, craft projects, the list is endless.

The power of produce program will be offered to Truman area youth and senior citizens this summer. The Truman Active Living farmers market tokens for use at the Truman farmers’ market and Granada Gardens market in Truman. The tokens are available at the Truman Public Library, pool and from Pat Jones at the Farmers Market.

Truman City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Monday at the municipal building. These meetings are open to the public.

The Truman School Board meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, in the board conference room.

-Wednesday is recycling day. Please place your recycling containers curbside by 7 am. Remember that recycling is the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month unless it falls on a holiday.

Second Harvest Heartland, nutrition assistance program for seniors, will be held 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Come to Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman to pick up your box. Eligibility is based on age, 60 years and up, household size, and income. Pre-register at 1-800-365-0270.

Lewisville commercial club meets at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Legion.
