CEYLON — A communion service at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon will be at 5:30 p.m. tonight. Area residents are welcome to join them for services on the first and third Saturday evenings.

Church services for the Circle of Faith Parishes are at 9 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Trimont and at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome for the month of May. In June, the times will rotate. The ladies’ group of St. Peter Lutheran WELCA will meet at 1:30 p.m. on May 7 in Ceylon. All members are encouraged to attend. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert has Sunday services at 9:30 a.m. The ladies’ group LWML will meet at 1:30 p.m. on May 8. The Church services will change to 10 a.m. beginning on May 25 for the summer. The partner church of St. Paul’s, St. John’s Lutheran in Sherburn, has 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services on Sundays. They will change on May 18 to one 8:30 a.m. service with fellowship and coffee at 9:30 a.m. for the summer. St. John’s will have confirmation at the 10:30 a.m. service tomorrow, May 4. Area residents are welcome to join these congregations for services.

The Friendship Club from St. John’s in Sherburn will meet for lunch at 11 a.m. on May 5 at the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon. Area residents are welcome to join them. You do not need to be a member of St. John Church to attend.

Condolences to the families of Verna Bliesmer and Beverly Thate from the Dunnell area, who passed away recently. They will be missed by family and friends.

The Tuesday Coffee Hours will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. in May at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. Join friends and neighbors for coffee, goodies, and great fellowship. Ceylon Coffee Lovers meet on Thursday mornings at the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon. All area residents are welcome.

The Sherburn Theatre will feature the family fantasy film “The Legend of Ochi” this weekend. Showtimes are 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and at 4 p.m. On Sundays. The film is about a girl who rescues an Ochi (mythical animal) and has an adventure returning it to its family. Tickets are $5. A concession stand is available.

The Ruby’s Pantry grocery distribution for May is cancelled due to scheduling conflicts in Sherburn.

The American Red Cross blood drives will be on May 15 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont, May 19 at St. Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont, and May 23 at the LiveFit Gym in Fairmont.
