Museum open Sundays through August
CEYLON — Since it is the first Saturday of a new month, Our Savior’s Church will have communion services at 5:30 p.m. tonight, June 1. All area residents are welcome to join them.

The Ceylon Historical Society Museum will be open from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, June 2. Check out the many items of interest from the city, area, school and legion. They plan to open the museum the first Sunday of the months of June, July and August.

During the month of June, Circle of Faith parishes will have Sunday services 9 a.m. at Waverly Lutheran Church and a coffee hour following with donations to the youth trip, and 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon. Area residents are welcome to join them. Note the time change. Children, age 4 through 6th grade, are welcome to join Vacation Bible School sponsored by the Circle of Faith parishes in July. St. Paul’s Lutheran in Wilbert also changed their service times for the summer to 10 a.m. and their partner congregation, St. John’s Lutheran in Sherburn, will have 8:30 a.m. services during the summer.

Condolences to the family of Royce Walburn who was the in-law of the Fenrich/Nelson family from Ceylon. He passed away recently in Missouri and will be buried in Ceylon. He will be missed.

Tuesday coffee hours for the month of June will begin 8:30-10 a.m. June 4, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Sherburn. Area men and women are welcome to join friends and neighbors for coffee, goodies and great fellowship. Also, there are coffee hours from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Thursday in the back room of the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon.

St. Peter Lutheran WELCA ladies group will meet 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, in the apartment of Jeannine Rasmussen at Homestead Assisted Living in Estherville. All members are urged to attend.

The non-profit group, Helping Hands of Ceylon, has been busy refurbishing the shelter house at Mondale Park. They are in need of a refrigerator in good condition and good working order that could be donated for the shelter house. Contact any of the committee members; Chris Griffin, Angie Connell, Barb Kronback or Judith Perkins.

American Red Cross blood drives will be held June 4 and 5 at Best Western in Fairmont, June 10 at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn, June 17 in Truman and June 21 at the American Legion, 300 Downtown Plaza in Fairmont.
