FAIRMONT — On Saturday, Jan. 27, eighteen members of the Fairmont Speech Team competed at the Rosemount Speech Invitational hosted by Rosemount High School. Fairmont Speech took 1st place in the small team division.

In Varsity Duo, Junior Grace Simpson and Junior Oliver Thedens took 3rd place; In Varsity Program of Oral Interpretation, Junior Oliver Thedens took 3rd place; In Varsity Drama, Junior Grace Simpson took 4th place; In Varsity Great Speeches, Senior Isaiah Lockwood took 6th place.

In Novice Humorous, Junior Isaac Thomas took 4th place; and Freshman Clark Hazard took 6th place.

Fairmont Speech competes next week at Apple Valley High School.

The Fairmont Speech Team is coached by Kathleen Walker, Erik Walker and Miles Duffey.
