CEYLON – There will be a cribbage tournament held 1:30 p.m. today in the back room at Legends ll in Ceylon. All area residents that like playing cribbage are invited. The entry fee will go towards the winnings. Next Saturday, Nov. 20, the cribbage players will meet at the same time in Welcome.

On Sunday, the Circle of Faith congregations, which include St. Peter Lutheran in Ceylon, will have the opportunity to have drive-through communion from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Waverly Lutheran Church north of Welcome, or at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome.

Ceylon Fire Relief Association will have their delicious all-you-can-eat pancake brunch from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Legends ll in Ceylon. The menu includes scrambled eggs, pancakes, French toast,ham, sausage, and beverages. Carry-out will be available. Free will donations will be accepted to help pay for equipment upgrading and repair. Those unable to attend but wishing to donate may send a dodonation to Ceylon Fire Relief, Box 201, Ceylon, MN 56121.

City of Ceylon will have the water turned off city-wide Wednesday, Nov. 17, as water lines are dug up by Lincoln Street. Please be prepared for this event.

Coffee Lovers group will meet 8:30-10 a.m. Thursday in the back room at Legends ll. All men and women in the area are welcome to join them for good coffee and fellowship.

City of Ceylon will have a Christmas lighting contest in December with prizes for the top three houses. The prize is a credit to the house’s utility bill. Watch for further information.

The committee for the Ceylon all-school reunion planned for June,25, 2022, would like to remind former students, teachers and staff that they should plan vacations to allow attendance at the reunion. Please inform relatives from out of town too and plan to attend.

The LWML ladies group from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert are gathering non-perishable groceries and money donations for the Heaven’s Table Food Shelf until November 21. Contact any members of the group or Pastor Reimers.
