Pancake breakfast set for Sunday

SHERBURN — Sherburn American Legion Auxiliary pancake breakfast which was postponed last weekend due to the weather will now be held 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the Sherburn American Legion Club. They will serve pancakes (prepared by Sherburn Lions Club), scrambled eggs, sausage, juice, milk and coffee. There will be a free will donation for the meal with proceeds going to the many auxiliary projects and programs they sponsor. Come out Sunday for breakfast and help this organization continue the work they do for our community.

Martin County West indoor swimming pool in Sherburn is now accepting registrations for spring swimming lessons. Registration forms were sent home with students last week, but if you did not receive one, they may be picked up at any MCW school. If you have questions, you may contact swimming pool manager Elizabeth Viesselman at elizabethviesselman@mcwmavericks.org.

The book sale at the high school in Sherburn continues throughout the month of January. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday in the school media center. All types of books including mystery, science fiction, literature, history, geography, encyclopedias, collections, sets, and much more are available. Proceeds from the sale will go to purchase new books for the school library.

Monday, Feb. 17, which was supposed to be a scheduled day off for MCW students, will now be a make-up snow day for students and staff.

MCW Community Education offers fitness classes by Mary in the music room at MCW School in Sherburn. Gentle yoga will be held 4:15 p.m. Tuesday; chair yoga will be 3:40 p.m. Thursday; and Pilates/Barre will be held 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
