Speeding — Justin D. Cochran, 30, of Albert Lea; fined $135.

No Minnesota drivers license — Austin J. Cavanaugh, 28, of Stevens Point, Wis.; fined $185.

Larissa J. Brandt, 25, of Granada convicted of driving while impaired-alcohol concentration 0.08 within two hours; fined $610, sentenced to jail 90 days, stayed 90 days for one year, one year unsupervised probation, complete and pay for a comprehensive assessment and follow all recommendations timely, must sign all releases for assessor to obtain collateral information from assigned probation agent(s), assigned social worker(s) if any, mental health treatment provider(s) if any, relevant family/household members and recent treatment providers as part of their assessment, must successfully complete the level of treatment and aftercare recommended rather than choosing a lesser level of care, no alcohol/controlled substance use with the exception of prescribed medications, no alcohol/controlled substance possession with the exception of prescribed medications, random testing, attend MADD impact panel, no same or similar. Additional charges of fourth-degree driving while impaired, and operate motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, were both dismissed.

Kevin O. Coats, 27, of Fairmont was convicted of fourth-degree assault of a peace officer-physically assaults; fined $485, sentenced to jail 365 days, stayed 248 days for two years, credit for time served 117 days, two years supervised probation, contact probation officer as directed, complete and pay for a comprehensive assessment within 60 days of sentencing and follow all recommendations timely, must sign all releases for assessor to obtain collateral information from assigned probation agent(s), assigned social worker(s) if any, mental health treatment provider(s) if any, relevant family/household members and recent treatment providers as part of their assessment, must successfully complete the level of treatment and aftercare recommended rather than choosing a lesser level of care, cooperate with any post-sentencing investigation, cognitive skill training if recommended by probation, no alcohol/controlled substance use with the exception of prescribed medications, no alcohol/controlled substance possession with the exception of prescribed medications, random testing, don’t leave Minnesota without written court approval, follow all state and federal criminal laws, contact probation agent within 72 hours if charged with a new crime; are in contact with law enforcement; if changes address, employment, or telephone number, cooperate with search of person, residence, vehicle, workplace, property, etc. by probation officer, sign releases of information as directed, don’t use/possess firearms, ammunition, or explosives. An additional felony charge of fourth-degree assault of a peace officer-throws/transfers bodily fluids or feces at or onto an officer, and misdemeanor charges of obstruct legal process-interfere with peace officer, disorderly conduct-offensive/abusive/boisterous/noisy/obscene, driving after revocation, failure of driver turning left to yield right-of-way to oncoming traffic, operate vehicle with expired registration, and speeding, were all dismissed.
