Kiwanis to meet

Early Risers Kiwanis of Fairmont will gather for their weekly breakfast at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at The Ranch restaurant in Fairmont. A meeting at 6:50 a.m. will follow. The speaker of the meeting will be Seth Becker of Becker Financial. The public is invited to attend.

City of Lakes Garden Club to meet

City of Lakes Garden Club will meet at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 4, in the downstairs classroom at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. Wednesday supper at Huntley church

The Community Covenant Church in Huntley will host Wednesday Night Supper from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 4. The menu includes spaghetti, French bread, lettuce salads and desserts. A free-will donation is encouraged.

MLHS Mac and Cheese Cookoff

Martin Luther High School’s (MLHS) freshman class will host a Mac ‘N Cheese Cook-off on Friday, Feb. 6, during the Jaguars’ girls’ varsity basketball game versus Fairmont. Guests can sample and vote from 5 to 7 p.m. For more information, visit www.martinlutherhs.com.

Local author at W’bago library

Author Danielle Hayter-Johnson will discuss her memoir book, “River Shark,” at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 6, at the Muir Library in Winnebago. The event includes a book reading and signing. Refreshments will be available. For additional information, contact the Muir Library at (507) 893-3196.

Sharpen Pruning Skills with Master Gardeners

University of Minnesota Extension Master Gardeners and University of Minnesota Fruit Production Extension Education Madeline Wimmer will host a free pruning skills workshop at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Lakeview Methodist Community Room in Fairmont. The workshop will be followed by a pruning demonstration by Al Zeitz at Timberlake Orchard in Fairmont. All are welcome. Registration is required and can be sent to martincomh56031@gmail.com
