Seasonal Activity for Adults with Disabilities
A special seasonal-themed activity for adults with disabilities will be at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12 at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. All supplies will be provided, and caregivers are welcome to attend. There is no cost to attend. Registration is not required. Fairmont Booster Club Tailgate Party
Support the Fairmont Booster Club with a Tailgate Party from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, at Fairmont High School’s Mahoney Field in Fairmont. Hawkins Chevrolet will serve pork patties, cowboy beans, chips, Cardinal Cakes and a drink for $8. All proceeds will be donated to the Fairmont Booster Club. The Fairmont football team will then take on Waseca, with kickoff at 7 p.m.
East Chain Methodist Community Coffee Party
The East Chain United Methodist Church will host its Monthly Community Coffee Party from 8:30 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13. Mini Monday at the Fairmont library
Come for stories and playtime during Mini Monday at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 15 at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. Mini Monday is for children ages birth to five and an adult caregiver. Kinship Industrial Commericial Sale/Auction
The Kinship Industrial Commercial Rummage Sale/Auction will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 15 and Tuesday, Sept. 16 at the Martin County Fairgrounds. All businesses (not households) have the chance to get rid of unneeded items. Businesses can bring workable obsolete or unused inventory, equipment, machinery, tools, building materials, supplies, parts, fixtures and office items. No computers or printers. Ruby’s Pantry in Sherburn
Ruby’s Pantry drive-through grocery distribution will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 15 at 2 Crossroads Drive in Sherburn. The cost is $25 per bundle, in cash. We have pre-pay available. Visit www.rubyspantry.org and find Express Track. It will show how to pay ahead. This is available until 1 p.m. on the day before the distribution or until the quota is filled. There are no income or residential guidelines. Ruby’s offers a generous amount of food in each bundle. Items vary each month; check out our Facebook page (Ruby’s Pantry-RWC-Sherburn) on the weekend before the distribution. Bring empty boxes if possible. Make sure there is plenty of room in your car for the bundle amounts you receive.
Movie Monday at the Fairmont Library
Movie Monday will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 15, at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. The library will show “The Pistol: Birth of a Legend”. This is a free, all-ages event. Handmade Journals from Discarded Books
Joleen Emery will teach how to transform old books into personalized traveler’s notebooks at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 15 at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. Participants will learn step-by-step techniques such as reinforcing and covering the book, sewing signatures, adding fabric, setting eyelets and creating decorative closures.
