FHS Class of 1960 to reunite
The Fairmont High School Class of 1960, spouses and friends will meet for lunch at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3, at the Pizza Ranch restaurant in Fairmont.

The Fairmont High School class of 1961, spouses and friends will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, at the Pizza Ranch restaurant in Fairmont.
Huntley Church to serve supper
The Community Covenant Church in Huntley will have a Wednesday Night Supper from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4. The menu includes burgers, hot dogs, baked beans, assorted salads and root beer floats. This will be the last Wednesday Night Supper until September.
Wednesday coffee at the Chubb House
The historic Chubb House in Fairmont is open from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, June 4 for coffee and more. Stop in to learn more about the first and only brick home in Martin County, and the man who built it in 1867 for his family, Dr. Orville P. Chubb. Get acquainted with Fairmont’s rich history and the volunteers who have worked hard to preserve this building. Child and babysitting safety class
A child and babysitting safety class (CABS) for grades 4 and up will be from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, June 11, in Room 135 at the Southern Minnesota Educational Campus (SMEC). The CABS program from the American Safety and Health Institute provides everything you need to know for safe and successful babysitting. At the end of class, students will receive their certification card along with instructions to access a digital copy of the CABS Student book. From getting started with your business, to collaborating with parents and children, to key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips, CABS will help set you up for babysitting success. Students must be present for the entire class and complete the achievement of the core learning objectives to receive certification valid for two years. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen. Registration is required, costs $51, closes June 4, and can be completed on the CER webstore. Home alone safety class
A home alone safety class for grades 2 and up will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, in Room 135 at the Southern Minnesota Educational Campus (SMEC). This class for children will address several topics relating to being home alone, including age guidelines, safe habits, house rules, after-school routines, phone calls and door knocks, dog emergencies, personal safety, handling the unexpected, gun safety, severe weather, fire safety, intruders and first aid tips. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen. Parents are encouraged to review the take-home information and discuss it with their child. Fee: $31.
