Martin Luther plans Sunday benefit dinner

The Martin Luther High School Board of Directors will host a Celebrating Our Freedom benefit dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, June 23, at the high school in Northrop. They will serve grilled pork loin (by Martin County Pork Producers), cheesy hashbrowns, baked beans, coleslaw, bread, bars and beverage. This is a free will offering. Proceeds will help sustain the school’s ministry over the summer months and assist with moving expenses for the new principal. Donations over and above $20 are tax-deductible. There will also be a meet-and-greet pantry shower for Principal David Stuckwisch and his family. Everyone is invited.

Church plans free meal on Wednesday

First Congregational United Church of Christ in Fairmont will offer a free community meal beginning 5:30 p.m. until the food is gone on Wednesday, June 26, at their church located at 319 Downtown Plaza in Fairmont. The East Chain 4H Club will serve the meal consisting of walking tacos. Everyone is welcome.

Heritage Acres to hold meeting Thursday

June is Heritage Acres’s annual meeting month. The meeting will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, June 27, in the Prairieville building. A supper of chopped steak, cheesy potatoes and pork and beans will be served followed by Brandon Edmundson’s presentation on estate planning. After the secretary and treasurer’s reports, Jerry Simon, president, will give updates on donations, crops, Theshing Days in August and maintenance. Elections will be held for two directors. Classical music concert Thursday in Blue Earth

The Faribault County Historical Society will host a concert of Viennese classical music performed by world-class musician Daniel Maltz on a replica 1792 fortepiano, beginning 7 p.m. Thursday, June 27, in the historic Church of the Good Shepherd Episcopal in Blue Earth. Tickets, which can be paid at the door, are only $10 and can be reserved by calling (507) 525-3068. Mr. Maltz will host a ‘meet and greet’ after the recital.
