Spice of Life to meet in Fairmont
Spice of Life will take place 1:30 p.m. Thursday, November 16th at the CREST office, located at 820 Winnebago Avenue in Fairmont. CREST’s “Spice of Life” program is where persons living with Alzheimer’s/Dementia and their caregiver come together with others and enjoy a fun time. This month will be a creative activity centered around Thanksgiving. There is no charge for this event, but RSVP’s are encouraged by calling (507) 235-3833. We hope to see you there.
Chili & Oyster Stew Dinner
Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1200 N. North Ave., Fairmont, will have their Chili & Oyster Stew Dinner 5-8 p.m. Friday in the basement of the church. Meal consists of chili, oyster stew, crackers, breadsticks, assorted bars, milk, hot chocolate and coffee. The dinner is hosted by Immanuel’s Men’s Club and Youth Groups. The cost for adults is $10; children (6-12) $5; children (5 & under) is free. Proceeds go to support Immanuel’s Ministries.
Give to the Max Day – Heaven’s Table
Minnesota’s Give to the Max Day will be Thursday, November 16. Heaven’s Table Food Shelf in Fairmont and Sherburn provides temporary emergency food assistance and other events to people in need with the help of this program. When you choose to participate at www.givemn.org, you become a part of the mission of Heaven’s Table. You can help children, seniors, and individuals lead healthy and productive lives b supporting Heaven’s Table on Give to the Max Day.
Books & Brews Thursday
Martin county Library in Fairmont will host Books and Brews: Morning Edition. Bring your coffee and join us at 10 a.m. Thursday at the library. Staff will talk about books that make us feel thankful. This program is open to the public and there is no cost to attend.
Lefse Making Demo
Fairmont Library will hold a lefse making demo 6 p.m. Thursday. Megan Heller will show how lefse in made. There is no cost to attend and registration is not required.
Fairmont Glows Soup Supper
First Congregational UCC will hold a soup supper 5 p.m. until parade & after parade Friday. Serving until the food is gone. Meal consists of three different soups – ham & wild rice, vegetable beef and chicken noodle. Also fresh baked rolls, milk, coffee and water. Cost is $8/cup for adults and $5/cup for 12 & under. Takeout available. Free popcorn & hot apple cider outside. Come for soup. Stay for the parade. Provided by the Soup Group.
Martin County Toys for Tots to be in Glow’s Parade
Martin County Toys for Tots will have a float in the Glow’s Parade. East Chain 4H will man the float and will be collecting new, unwrapped toys and money donations along the parade route. Donors will recieve a Toys for Tots Swag Bag. All donations go to children in need in Martin County.
FSC meets today
